Daily lives have been impacted by Technology and Education is no exception. the significant influence of digital technology can be observed worldwide varying from online learning to interactive classes. Technology is revolutionizing Education, fostering success for students of diverse backgrounds and expanding classrooms 


Three Technological Tools Shaping Education

 

1. Quizizz (2015)

Quizizz is an educational platform based on games that enables educators to design interactive lectures, surveys and quizzes for students. Real-time feedback, extensive data and integration with Google Classroom, to help track student development are offered.

  • The premium version starts at 10/month when annually billed. This version is equipped for educators, providing detailed reports on student performance, customization options (images, audio) and hosting larger group sizes for team-based play. 

There is also an option for school districts where the pricing is customized based on the number of schools or users.

Numerous educational levels in over 150 countries use Quizizz in classrooms and is easy to use for both teachers and students. Teachers can quickly create and administer quizzes, while students use a code to participate.  


2. Seesaw App (2015)

Seesaw app is a communication and digital portfolio platform that allows students to share their learning experience through videos, drawings and photographs. Teachers may use it to provide feedback and create interactive activities while informing parents about their child's progress. 


Cost-effectiveness

There are two options available for the Seesaw app, a free and Paid version

  • The free edition is ideal for individual teachers and small classrooms including fundamental features like student portfolios, activity creation and basic communication capabilities. 
  • The paid version is created for schools and is priced yearly at 120 dollars per teacher, this version includes administrative control, limitless storage and extensive reporting.  


Additional Information 

Seesaw is primarily used for ages 5 to 11 years, but is attractive to various educational contexts for interactive, portfolio-based learning. The user-friendly interface and simple navigation make it straightforward for students, teachers and parents. 


3. Google Classroom (2015)

Google Classroom is an online platform designed to assist teachers in distributing, managing and grading assignments while keeping in contact with students. The platform integrates Google Drive, Google Meet and Google Docs to support online learning.

  • Google Classroom is free for all users and makes the platform highly cost-effective for institutions on a budget, essential tools such as feedback, communication and managing assignments are provided.
  • The paid version, Google Workspace for Education offers other features including unlimited storage, advanced administrative tools and security controls. pricing varies based on the school's needs, but a basic plan is affordable for an institution

Google Classroom is used widely by all age groups ranging from kindergarten to high school and higher education, specifically for the use of remote or hybrid learning worldwide by making it simple for teachers to provide feedback and assign work, Parents monitor their child's performance through Guardian summaries and students use codes to join classes, turn in assignments and receive feedback.
